PARTHENOPE: Featured Work

... when a rustle of clothes makes us shudder It is her peplum that crawls on the arena, it is she who writhes with passion, languishes and fades the city with love. Parthenope, the virgin, the woman, does not die, does not die, has no grave, is immortal ... it is love ". Matilde Serao Naples also known as Parthenope according to the myth of the Siren, vainly in love with the hero Ulysses, who committed suicide by jumping into the sea from a cliff and whose body, carried by the waves, generated the city. My new collection is entirely dedicated to my city to which I am deeply linked not only by birth but also by that feeling of "Neapolitanness" deriving from the rich and historical popular tradition and its thousand-year-old culture. "The strength of the Neapolitans lies in this, in their character, in their tractions, in their roots" (Marcello Mastroianni). Through my art, my tribute to my beloved homeland, reliving for a moment those places and traditions that I was strongly inspired during the creative work because "from what is said, narrated or painted, Naples overcomes everything: the shore, the bay, the gulf, the Vesuvius, the city, the nearby countryside, castles, walks ... I excuse all those to whom the sight of Naples makes you lose your senses "(JW Von Goethe) ...
